What is Available
Talking to the pro’s Victoria has a number of world class courses outside of Melbourne. Given the current restrictions the need for catching up with your mates (bromances) have never been more important.
Consider playing a round at one of three highly regarded Regional golf courses. In the South West we have Port Fairy Golf Links. In the North West we have Murray Downs Golf Resort. And, in the North East Mulwala Golf Club.
Port Fairy Golf
Port Fairy Golf Links, is a quick 50 minute flight from Melbourne. Much better than the 3 hours in the car. rated the best value golf you can play in Australia by the Golf Australia Magazine (October 2020).
Only of only a handful of courses located on the coastline, Port Fairy Golf Links is protected by the undulating sand dunes, but at the same time has magnificent beach and coastal views.
Landing only a few hundred meters away form the club rooms this course should be on your list of must to play. How much do I hear you say? How much would you pay $600, $700 or more…. Mile High Australia would be happy to take that from you, but prices start at $400 per person which includes Green fees and return flights.
Murray Downs Golf
Murray Downs Golf Resort is hidden just out of Swan Hill on the Murray River. Frequented by International and Interstate golfers this course is one on best Red Gum courses in Australia.
A quick 60 minute flight from Melbourne you have access to a night rated airport, meaning you can play, drink, and eat without having too much of a concern of time. Landing at Swan Hill Airport, Murray Downs has a shuttle bus that will take you on the short drive to the Club Rooms.
Packages from Mile High Australia start at $480 per person. Although this doesn’t include green fees this course is a extremely affordable option and perfect for milestone or bucks parties.
Mulwala Golf
Who hasn’t herd of. or been to Yarrawonga? If you haven’t add this town to your places to visit. Located on the Victoria/NSW border the Mulwala Golf Club is similar to Murray Downs.
Covered in historical red gum trees, lots of wildlife, this course is surrounded by the Murray River an local river systems.
Landing at Yarrawonga airport your flight from Melbourne is a quick 45 to 50 minutes. Add a quick 5 minute drive to the club rooms you playing at one of best quicker than you get around Melbourne.
Mile High Australia have packages to Mulwala Golf Club starting at $380 per person. Green fees are additional. But you can’t complain about the price.
